AKC Fetch
Requirements: Dog is comfortable in a group class environment and is able to be crated quietly while waiting their turn
Prerequisites: at least 6 months old, basic obedience skills (heel on leash, sit, stay, come), and a desire to retrieve!
Session Length: 7 weeks
Cost: $160 ($140 with early registration discount)
Content: AKC Fetch is a fun AKC Family Dog program in which dogs can earn 4 levels of AKC titles by demonstrating retrieving skills (Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Retriever). This class will teach you how to prepare your dog to compete in AKC's new Fetch Test and/or to have fun training them to retrieve. Participants will be able to describe the differences in the 4 levels, reinforce proper hold and fetch, encourage reliable come, train steadiness and delivery to hand, develop marking and memory skills, and how to set up practice courses. It will conclude with mock tests at each of the levels that you think your dog is ready to compete. Come and join the fun. All breeds or mixes welcome.
