Requirements: Prerequisites: Teams must have a recall, stay, positions on command, heel on or off leash. Dogs must be able to work in close proximity to other dogs.
Prerequisites: Obedience and Rally Skills, Novice Obedience, or Equivalent
Session Length: 7 weeks
Cost: $160 ($140 with early registration discount)
Content: This is a group training class that teaches teams to work on basic exercises with the distractions of other teams near and /or in the same ring.
Exercises include Recall, Stay, Heel, Exam by a judge, Retrieve, and Position changes (down sit stand). Teams perform the exercise at their level in a ring which is set up to accommodate multiple teams using gates to section the space. The focus of the class is to build attention and work during distractions.
Materials Needed: buckle or martingale collar, 4 to 6 foot leash, training tab, dumbbell, guides (PVC and/or platforms) for position changes, lots of small treats
