About Us

​ K-9 Obedience Club of Jacksonville, Inc., (K9) is a Florida Corporation that was founded in 1951 and as of June 27, 2025 was designated as a public charity non-profit that is eligible to receive tax deductible bequests and gifts under IRC §501(C)(3).  K9 is a volunteer run organization who’s Constitution and By-Laws reflect its commitment of promoting the welfare of dogs through educating the public to become responsible dog owners, and to promote amateur dog sports. The formal documenting of our volunteer organization to this purpose was a natural extension of our commitment and is representative of our decades of work to the Jacksonville community.
 
K-9 offers seminars on special canine topics and informational programs at general membership club meetings. Some of our seminars are also open to the public. The club's grounds provide a safe and beautiful area where these activities take place. The club has three regulation size rings for training and hosting AKC trials. Members keep crates on site available for students. All other equipment is club owned for member and class use.
 
K-9 hosts AKC licensed Obedience and Rally Trials twice a year in Daytona.  Several times a year we also host Show-n-Go’s where both members and the public have the opportunity to test their skills in a trial atmosphere in our regulation size rings.
