Welcome to K-9 Dog Training Club of Jacksonville
K-9 Obedience Club is not affiliated with any private breeder or any other private, public groups or individuals. We are an independent "Not-For-Profit" Florida Corporation made up of volunteers who have joined together to train their dogs in a variety of sports and to offer training classes which range from "Puppy" to "Advanced" classes in many dog sports. Members hold titles in many sports and give generously of their time to help others train their dogs. K-9 has three regulation size rings for training and hosting AKC trials. Members keep crates on site. Equipment is club owned for all member and class use.

K-9 was founded over 60 years ago as a dog training club for American Kennel Club traditional obedience competition enthusiasts. K-9 has grown and evolved over the years to include a wide variety of classes to reflect the wide range of dog related activities available to today’s pet owner and experienced performance competitor.
K-9 has always offered Basic Obedience classes to the community; in addition to that we now offer AKC "S.T.A.R. Puppy" classes to give your “baby” a “head start” in basic behaviors and healthy socialization. We also have a class called "Family Dog" to work on acceptable household manners. "Pet Therapy" class is available to those who would like to share their dog with patients in hospitals and nursing homes when they and their dogs pass the screening process. |
For those who are ambitious to become a team with their dog, K-9 holds classes in a wide range of dog sports such as "Introduction to Agility," formal "Obedience Competition
' and "Nose Work," a new sport based on drug/explosive detection. Whether dog owners are new to training or accomplished competitors, K-9 Obedience Club offers many ways to build a stronger bond with your dog. Understanding how your dog learns and responds can make communicating with your dog more effective, but more importantly, it may enrich your dog's life and deepen the bond you share. Club members take classes, train independently and train with other members on shared interests. The beautiful covered open-air training facility and spacious grounds are available to members year round. With its three regulation size rings and an agility field, K-9 is an excellent place to train! |
